About the Exiis Corporation SharePoint Server Team
Exiis Corporation is a full service, customer-centric, professional Information Technology (IT) provider of outsourced technology support and consulting services. Our teams of Professional consultants and support engineers have been providing local and remote network and application support for nearly two decades, making us one of the oldest, experienced, and trusted outsourced IT service providers. Exiis Corporation is deeply involved with the architecture, design, and implementation practices for Microsoft SharePoint Products and Technologies, beginning with its initial release of SharePoint 2.0 followed by SharePoint 2003 and 2007.
Our Team Specialty Makes the Difference
Our team specializes in Microsoft SharePoint Server Products and Technologies, which means we are dedicated solely to the administration, support and troubleshooting of Microsoft SharePoint Server Technologies. As a specialty team, we are called to handle any issue related to Microsoft Office SharePoint Server, its integration with Microsoft Office products. Live Communications Server (LCS), Microsoft Project Server, Microsoft Outlook, and other related technology solutions. The team receives extensive, on-going training focused on new releases, cross-platform integration, troubleshooting techniques, and releases of major operating systems such as Windows Server 2008. We are constantly evolving, growing, and reshaping our support offerings. We work within test labs, beta releases, and contribute to the SharePoint Server community. If you love SharePoint—really love Sharepoint—there’s no better team to join.
Solid Understanding of “Core” Services
Our initial team requirement is that you understand Microsoft networking and server technologies. As any SharePoint Administrator knows, SharePoint relies heavily on a sound network environment, Active Directory Directory Services, DNS, SMTP, POP3, and other messaging-related components. While the team does not expect you to be an Active Directory or DNS specialist, we do require you have a sound background and “near expert” understanding of the related services. Naturally, when other specialists are required, they can be called in at a moment’s notice. Because of these high standards, you must possess advanced certifications, such as the MCSE or MCSA along with related SharePoint certifications. Without these advanced certifications, it’s literally impossible to be considered for the team—no matter how good you are as an administrator or developer. Industry certifications are the cornerstone of joining the team—please respect our position before you apply—inadequate certifications or applicants without sufficient experience cannot be considered.
Virtual Office Environment
With the exception of our core office locations (California, Colorado, Nevada) most of our team members work remotely from the comfort of their home office. Telecommuting opportunities are readily available utilizing core Windows technologies such as remote desktop connectivity, Terminal Services, and Web-Ex solutions. Many team members never meet in person, but share their knowledge and experience via Microsoft Office SharePoint Server (MOSS) support sites, Microsoft Outlook, and Live Communications Server (LCS) Instant Messaging protocols. Virtual Offices allow us to collect the “best-of-the-best” from around the nation and gather them under one roof, as a single source of reference for our clients. It takes a special person to work in a Virtual Office environment and not many actually succeed, and that’s OK too. But if you can enjoy your Home Office Environment, work remotely, and respond in an efficient and orderly fashion, a career at Exiis Corporation may be the solution you’ve been looking to achieve.
Full-Time, Part-Time, Contract, and Moonlighting Opportunities
Because of its unique work environment, Exiis Corporation starts all new team members as members of the “overflow” team. The overflow team consists of contractors who are on a sort of “probation” status, answering support calls when the primary team is involved with other projects or support issues. Your time on this team is generally 6-months, which allows us sufficient time to assign, review, and determine if remote support is right for you. Two out of three remote engineers fail their initial probation period, for a variety of reasons, however, if you make it through the probation period you are invited to join the “part-time” team, which raises your availability status, allowing us to assign additional cases, and place you into a more responsible role within the organization. Provided you pass the probationary period, you are then offered a position on the team as a permanent, full-time employee. “Moonlighters” or those that have full-time Administrator positions are offered a permanent “on-call” status which means you do not commit to any availability, are under no obligation, but are also the last to be contacted. This should make sense because there are others who are attempting to join the team, have made a larger investment in time, and are willing to serve the client whenever necessary—which is exactly what Exiis Corporation is willing to do under all circumstances.
Understanding Our Integration and Migration Procedures
Many businesses and organizations turn to the “high-cost” of Microsoft SharePoint Server as a reason to use a different messaging platform. Unfortunately, licensing is a very, very, small consideration when you consider integration, ease of operability, and the over-all complete solution. Efficiency, lower cost of operations, improved return on investment (ROI) and tight integration with desktop and server applications are very important factors that must also be considered. On-going support and operational costs are greatly reduced when Microsoft SharePoint is utilized within the organizations environment. These savings, though not “obvious” when comparing licensing options with other vendors, significantly outweigh the initial licensing fees in the long run.
