Colorado Subject Matter Experts

Our engineers support SharePoint server technologies on a daily basis solving real-world challenges...at Exiis Corporation, you'll talk to a professional who specializes in Sharepoint Products and Technologies, professionals who know more than how to install the product. This allows us to put you in direct contact with a Colorado SharePoint Support Professional that works with your particular problem on a daily basis, who has seen your problem before and has provided a previous resolution. In addition to these benefits, if your support matter involves a SharePoint Administrator, we can provide the right person with the right experience. If your issue involves custom web parts, we can assign a SharePoint Developer who has experience with C++ and HTML coding. If reports are not functioning as expected, a SQL Database Administrator with SharePoint experience may be the correct engineer to assign. Most importantly, if the support matter requires two or three professionals from different disciplines, they are all available from one source and can collaborate with one another in real time, solving the most difficult challenges in a quick, efficient time frame.

Microsoft Office SharePoint Server (MOSS) 2007 Colorado Support Services

Supporting services for SharePoint 2007 are pulled from the .NET and ASP 2.0 .NET Web Parts. Web Part pages, master pages, personalization, and other features of SharePoint 2007 are dependent directly on the services and architecture of SharePoint Server 2007.

ASP.NET 2.0 Support for SharePoint 2007

ASP.NET 2.0 is a common and popular developer platform. Building Colorado SharePoint solutions based on ASP.NET 2.0 provides developers with a solid, industry proven platform for third-party integration and easy access to extensions that allow APS.NET developers additional flexibility over other developer languages. Some of these benefits include:

·         Page Rendering: ASP.NET has its own page rendering engine which allows Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 to trust ASP.NET’s rendering engine more readily than other available options.

·         No Compile Pages: ASP.NET has the ability to make sure pages are not compiled into a dynamic-link library (DLL) prior to Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 utilizing the pages. In these instances the page is parsed and the controls in the control tree are rendered on the page, which allows administrators to set the application scope thought the Web.config file. ASP.NET allows developers to override the application scope by allowing approved controls to be set on the individual page from within the application which guards against malicious code being complied within Windows SharePoint Services 3.0.

·         Safe Controls List: Administrators can directly control ASP.NET permissions via the bin directory on the IIS Server which affects all applications and web pages across the entire SharePoint Farm. Should a control be rendered as “unsafe”, an error message is displayed and the page will not render completely, which is easily viewable during the development process.

·         Master Pages: There are generally two parts to a SharePoint Web page—the “Master Page” and the “Content Page” (aka Page Layout). Master Pages are generally developed by developers and are associated with one or more content pages. Master Pages are utilized to render the initial page and control the pages “Chrome” effect or how the Master Page is displayed, rendering a consistent look across the entire SharePoint site. Content Pages are pages that contain information Colorado end-users typically update and provide information and data the Master Page displays.

SharePoint Server Support for Core Services Available for Colorado Organizations

SharePoint Support for core services is available as well for Colorado developers and business owners who are moving to SharePoint server services. SharePoint core services consist of the following:

Storage Services:

Storage services is essentially responsible for the information contained in the database, making sure the information is accurate, readily available, and that strings are called and returned intact. Storage services provide metadata and context to the raw data contained in the database which allows the data to be easily indexed, managed, interpreted, and published.

Metadata

Metadata is actually information about information contained on the SharePoint site. This information is not unlike the information contained in a Word document such as: Creation Date, Author. Subject, and so forth. Metadata is created and easily added to any document or web page by end users or developers alike and can be utilized for automated processes such as indexing, categorizing, and classifying data.

Versioning

Version control in SharePoint refers to the state a Web page or document currently resides. This helps end users determine if the Web page or document is currently being worked on, if it’s been published, or to determine if additional review and changes are needed. When combined with Workflow processes, a saved document shared as a “draft” can alert administrators, business owners, and other important business personnel that the document is ready for additional review. Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 allow for minor and major versioning—wherein minor versions are never published to general end users but rather held in a state of suspension pending authorization. Once approved, the minor version is then converted to a major version which is published for all to see and review.

Backup

Having a current backup of SharePoint sites and documents provide for disaster and recovery planning with little need for special handling, scripting, and testing of backup operations. SharePoint Support for backup services has been greatly improved in the release of SharePoint Server 2007. Some of these improvements include:

·         Content and metadata for crawled content help in SQL databases

·         Backup of the binaries for SharePoint Server

·         Content indexes held by the file server

·         Web application files utilized by SharePoint

·         Configuration information for the Web applications are held in the metabase

·         Farm configuration information is held in the SQL Configdb database

·         A two-stage Recycle Bin for extended holds on deleted items
