SUMMARY

Microsoft has released the Microsoft Office SharePoint Portal Server 2003 post-Service Pack 1 hotfix package for Microsoft Office SharePoint Portal Server 2003. This article describes the following items about the hotfix package:

INTRODUCTION

This article describes the SharePoint Portal Server 2003 issue that is fixed in the SharePoint Portal Server 2003 post-Service Pack 1 hotfix package that is dated January 10, 2005.

Issue that the hotfix package fixes

This hotfix package fixes the following issue that was not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article:

Content that is not included in the search scope is returned in the search results in the English, the Swedish, and the Norwegian versions of SharePoint Portal Server 2003

You use the Search Web service to search the portal site, and you specify a search scope in the query. In certain situations, you receive unexpected search results. Content that is not included in the search scope is returned in the search results.

This issue occurs when SharePoint Portal Server 2003 incorrectly processes property restrictions in the query. This issue occurs in the English, the Swedish, and the Norwegian versions of SharePoint Portal Server 2003.

Hotfix information
